This project started with Shota Watanabe and Hikoichiro Nakai when we were undergraduate students in Japan. ReadOne was a news aggregator which worked on the sidebar of Internet Explore and web-based applications. I developed a feed crawler system and personalized reordering function which could reorder the news articles automatically by user's interests. We received 5000+ users and met many people who were working in the Internet industry through ReadOne.
RedCruise provides a news aggregator for users. It also sells an RSS feed building system for enterprises. Our news aggregator, named eCruiser, is client install software that looks like a news ticker. In 2006, eCruiser reached 1 million downloads. I was responsible for developing strategy, product development, product management and customer support. RedCruise started with Isamu Masuda, Yuko Honobe and myself in Japan. We are an Impress-funded company.
